Laura “Luann” Bambrough, known professionally as L’Wren Scott was an American model, fashion designer, and stylist. She started her career as a model in the late 1990s and later became a fashion designer. Her clothing line, L’Wren Scott, became popular in the 2000s. In February 2014, Scott was found dead in her home after an apparent suicide.  According to public records, Scott’s personal estate was worth approximately $9 million.

She began her career as a model in Paris before moving to California and styling movie stars such as Madonna and Julia Roberts. In 2009, her clients included singers Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, actresses Reese Witherspoon and Penélope Cruz, NBA player Kobe Bryant, supermodels Miranda Kerr and Gigi Hadid, singer Justin Bieber, Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, and fashion designer Tom Ford. Her work has appeared in Elle Decor UK, Vogue Italia, GQ US, W Magazine Germany, New York Times Style Section.

Personal Life

Laura Bambrough was born on April 28, 1964, in the small town of Laura Bambrough, Utah. She is best known for her role as Dr. Elizabeth Bennet in the hit ABC show “How I Met Your Mother” which aired from 2005-2014.

L’Wren Scott was married twice, for short periods of time. From 1990 to 1993 as “Lauren Scott,” she was married to British property developer Andrew Ladsky, with whom she had a daughter before divorcing in 1994. In 1996, she married model Heath Ledger, with whom she had two children before his death in 2008.

In 1993, one month after her divorce from Ladsky, she married Anthony Brand, manager of a Prada franchise in Beverly Hills. Scott became the face and spokesperson for the fashion house. The divorce was finalized in 1997.

She is an American model, and fashion designer who achieved fame as the lead singer of the band Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger from 1989 to 2003. She has also had a successful solo career. The couple relocated to New York City. They later moved to France and then back to New York City before finally settling in Mustique in 2002.

Jagger’s siblings have divided opinions regarding his relationship with their sister. Some believe that he is deeply in love with her, while others are convinced that he is exploiting her for fame and money.

Career

L’Wren Scott’s career in fashion began as a model and stylist before she became a designer. The first version of her story is that Scott was discovered by an agent while she was working as a stylist for a high-end clothing line in New York City. She soon began working with some of the most well-known names in fashion, including Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. In 2004, she launched her own label, L’Wren Scott, which quickly gained a following for its sophisticated yet playful designs. In 2011, Scott filed for bankruptcy after reportedly losing millions of dollars in investments.

Lenny Wren Scott was 16 years old when she was spotted by photographer Bruce Weber in Utah. Weber happened to be in the state on a photography trip and saw Scott walking down the street. He took a picture of her and later that day he tracked her down, introduced himself, and asked if she would pose for him. She agreed, and from then on, Weber was her photographer.

When she was just starting out as an advertisement model, she landed her first major commercial success as the legs on a clock for the Pretty Polly hosiery ads. This exposure led to more opportunities and eventually, Scott became one of the most successful fashion designers in history. Her career has spanned over fifty years and she has designed clothing for some of the most iconic names in fashion, including Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, and Karl Lagerfeld. In addition to her work as a fashion designer, Scott is also a philanthropist who has donated millions of dollars to various charities. She is currently retired but continues to be involved in fashion design through her company, Wren Scott Designs.
